German GP 2018 Tarot Reading

How well did I do last time?

As I didn’t do a reading for Silverstone, there is nothing to say here.

Astrologically speaking this weekend, the moon moves from Scorpio to Sagittarius, this shows a need to cling on to a belief and seek the truth, so many will cling to the belief that they are right, that their way is right and a need to find a better way. The sun is also on the move, it moves into Leo on Sunday, this will see a lot of posturing, playing to the crowds and possibly tantrum throwing as the need to be the centre of attention takes over.

What can we expect to see in the German Grand Prix?

Mood for the weekend – Seven of Swords

What to look out for – Queen of Swords

Outcome – Ace of Coins

Mood for the Weekend: Seven of Swords

On the card, Samwell Tarly steals his family’s sword Heartsbane as he leaves for OldTown.

The suit of Swords represents the element of air; this also shows us logic, challenges and communication.

This card traditionally shows deceit, breaking agreements, manipulation and theft. Things are not what they should be this weekend, there is a lot of murky goings on in the shadows this weekend, things are being manipulated in someone’s favour, agreements broken and advantages being taken due to others misfortune. Samwell stole his father’s sword to help in the war against the Night King against, so you could say the theft was for the greater good, but after the argument with his father, the insults made against Gilly, you could also say he did it out of spite. This weekend the manipulation and deceit going on in the shadows can be seen both ways too, taking advantage of situations to further a cause or cheating and breaking agreements to further that same cause, line will be blurred at some point.

What to look out for: Queen of Swords

On the card, Queen Cercei sits on the Iron Throne.

This Queen is rational, logical, single minded, cold and cutting.

Queen Cersei has lied, cheated, manipulated and murdered to get where she is today, she is the epitome of what the Queen of Swords is, but with the Seven of Swords is here was well, Cersei’s true nature comes to the fore. This card is backing up the seven; someone is manipulating events to serve their own ends, single mindedly, with a cold and logical grasp of the situation, they will do anything and everything to get what they want.

Outcome: Ace of Coins

On the card, a coin is held in a pair of hands, it is the iron coin Jaqen H’gar gave Arya Stark as a guarantee of safe passage to Braavos and the House of Black and White.

The suit of coins (or pentacles) represents the element of earth; this in turn shows us the material world, home, money, family, career and the actual earth.

Traditionally, this card is all about the beginnings of working towards financial security, the seeds of an idea that needs nurturing and an opportunity for financial security.

Could the previous cards warnings of manipulation, theft and deceit be all about money and the desire for financial security? It’s well known that some of the teams are desperate for money, but how far would these teams go to achieve it?

The coin on the card is the same coin given to Arya Stark by Jaqen H’gar, the Faceless Man, so could the manipulation going on this weekend be by someone, ‘Faceless’ someone who has interests in the sport or a team or driver, who’s interests are driven by money and success rather than a love of the sport.

Summary:

There is no doubt something dodgy is going on here, someone is manipulating events this weekend and it’s not for the good of the sport, it’s for their own self interest and that interest is more than likely money. There is nothing else to say here, things are going on in dark corners that will leave a bad taste in many mouths after the chequered flag is waved.

Austrian GP 2018 Tarot Reading

How did I do last time?

Until Lewis signs his new contract we won’t know, he’s the logjam in this. With the moon in Scorpio last weekend, anger did show its ugly head after Vettel’s punishment was deemed not far enough.

This weekend the Moon is in Aquarius, this could see the paddock closing ranks and standing up for their rights, the GPDA could be a spanner in the FIA’s works when pushing through the 2021 changes.

What can we expect to see in the Austrian Grand Prix?

Mood for the weekend – 5 of Cups

What to look out for – 4 of Cups

Outcome – 2 of Coins

Mood for the weekend: Five of Cups

On the card, Queen Cersei stands alone in the Red Keep, she is in mourning, the last of her children has died, Maggy the Frog’s prophesy has come true. She stare’s mournfully at the 3 spilled goblets on the floor, (representing  Joffrey, Mycella and Tommen) but she ignores the 2 full goblets on the table behind her.

The suit of Cups represents the element of Water, showing up emotions and intuition.

This card shows us loss, mourning and bereavement, something will cause loss and upset to overwhelm a lot of people in the paddock this weekend, whether it’s people leaving teams, personnel loss, even the loss of the race. All of these emotions will spill over at the end of the weekend and will possibly rumble on until the next race, but don’t forget to look at the positives that will come out of all this misery, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

What to look out for: Four of Cups

On the card, Sansa is sitting under the Weirwood tree, she is staring mournfully at three cups while ignoring the one being handed to her by Littlefinger.

This is a card of withdrawal, dissatisfaction, daydreaming and boredom. Someone is getting fed up with their lot and they’re sulking, thinking the world owes them a favour and it’s not paying up so they’re not going to play anymore. Could this be Ferrari and Kimi? Ferrari finally getting the hint that the rest of us have seen for years that Kimi just isn’t as good as he used to be and is just sitting in that car to get paid. After seeing Charles going so well,  Ferrari might have had a kick in the arse they need to prise him out of that seat and give it to someone who will actually fight for a win.

It could also be Alonso, having finally had enough of that pathetic McLaren and having no offers from the big three, has finally realized that he has no future in F1 so will accept Littlefinger’s cup of a drive in Indy. It could of course be Dan, fed up with being stepped over for Max is deciding his future. This card can apply to any driver on the grid but I’ve just highlighted the more popular rumours.

Outcome: Two of Coins

On the card, a ribbon surrounds two gold dragon coins. At the ends of the ribbon two lions sit. Printed on the ribbon is the phrase “A Lannister always pays his debts”, the unofficial motto of House Lannister.

The suit of Coins represents the element of earth; this also shows us the material world, money, home, family, career and the actual earth

There is a lot of juggling being done this weekend, you need to be flexible as well, listen to suggestions about how to deal with all the things you’re having to deal with.

Another part of this card is “Follow the Money”, a team is waving a lot of money at a particular  driver to make him stay or tempt him away, this could be any of the top drivers of the moment but a lot of money is being offered to someone. Going back to the first card, could it be Kimi and McLaren, Kimi will do anything for Money.

Summary:

There is a feeling of loss in the paddock this weekend, this could possibly be someone is leaving, either a team or the sport, someone who is getting dissatisfied with their lot is leaving for pastures new or someone who is not pulling his weight in the team is going to get his P:45. This movement could come because of the temptation of a big payrise, this payrise doesn’t necessarily mean a movement of teams, it could be an incentive to stay put.

French GP 2018 Tarot Reading

How did I do last time?

To be perfectly honest, as it was a fairly long range reading we won’t know the outcome for a few months, if not years, although with the current news of Honda supplying Red Bull with engines, perhaps it’s closer than we think.

Astrologically speaking this weekend, the moon is in Scorpio, the darkest sign in the zodiac, emotions are going to dwell on the darkness in various souls and anger and despair could rear its ugly head.

What can we expect to see in the French Grand Prix?

Mood for the weekend – The Lovers

What to look out for – Three of Spears

Outcome – Three of Cups

Mood for the weekend: The Lovers

On the card, Jon Snow and Ygritte are standing on the wall, locked in an embrace and about to kiss, but Ygritte is looking down, hesitating. Behind them the sky has orange clouds, the sun is either rising or setting, is this relationship beginning or at its end.

This is a Major Arcana card, it message in this reading and in your actions is important, you need to pay attention to it

A relationship is at the centre of everyone’s thoughts this weekend, whether it’s Red Bull and Honda or Daniel and McLaren, it’s causing gossip to work overtime. But this card is saying make a choice with your heart rather than your head, enter into this relationship following your heart rather than analysing every logical detail, have some fun, laugh, love and follow your desires.

What to look out for: Three of Spears

On the card, Petyr ‘Littlefinger’ Baelish watches ships massing in the bay before the Battle of Blackwater.

The suit of Spears represents the element of fire, representing creativity, Joie de Vive, self-will and pizzazz.

This card shows us that you’re close to setting everything in motion to making your dreams come true. Your plans are beginning to take shape and you are starting to put them into practice to get what it is you really want from life. With the figure in the card being Littlefinger, be warned, if someone is making these plans for you, or is involving you in their plans; be very careful, they may not have your best interests at heart.

Outcome: Three of Cups

On the card, three glasses of wine are raised in salute, the hands belong Tyrion Lannister, Grey Worm and Missendei of Naarth.

The suit of Cups represents the element of water, showing us emotion and intuition.

This card is one of celebration, partying, socializing, and letting your hair down with your friends. This is the result of following the advice of the previous cards, making a decision with your heart rather than your head and putting you plans into action. This will make sure you get the outcome you desire, what you have been planning for years. Whatever the outcome celebrations will be the order of the day.

Summary:

Someone is in the process of making a decision with their heart rather than their head, something that will make them very happy rather than just sticking with the status quo. They are putting their plans into action, plans they have been making for a long time and now is the time for these plans to be put into action. However, beware of someone in your inner circle who may make you believe they have your best interests at heart, but they have THEIR best interests at heart.

At the end of these negotiations, there will be celebrations when all the plans this person has made come to fruition.

On a different note, with all the threes in this reading, Three of Spears, Three of Cups and the Lovers, the card number being six, this could very well be a win for Dan, although don’t quote me.

Canadian GP 2018 Tarot Reading

How did I do last time?

I think I’d put that down as a win, ok I got the drivers wrong but Dan will be set up for life after this win, yes it was a procession and everyone knew that Red Bull would wipe the floor with everyone else. However, nursing the stricken Red Bull home for 50 laps and not throwing his toys out of the pram has probably added several millions to his asking price.

Astrologically speaking this weekend, the moon will move into Taurus, again, so this weekend will see emotions grounded, it will also see a lot of attention being show towards money. With the Moon is Square with Mars, anger could rear its head from time to time, so look out for bad tempered radio calls and press briefings.

What can we expect to see in the Canadian Grand Prix?

Mood for the weekend – Page of Coins

What to look out for – Two of Coins

Outcome – The Magician

Mood for the Weekend: Page of Coins

On the card, Tyrion Lannister catches a bag of coins.

The suit of coins represents the element of earth, this, in turn, means money, career, family home and the actual earth.

This suit is all about money. This particular card shows good news about money and income through a new job, however there is a time limit so it’s not time to drag your feet about this.

Could this mean new investment in the sport or in teams and does it come with conditions. With the news that Michael Lafiti has a purchased 10% stake in McLaren and being Nicholas Lafiti’s father, is the condition here that his son gets a seat in F1 a la Lawrence and Lance Stroll, a Page does indicate a young person?

What to look out for: Two of Coins

On the card, a ribbon surrounds two gold dragon coins. At the ends of the ribbon two lions sit. Printed on the ribbon is the phrase “A Lannister always pays his debts”, the unofficial motto of House Lannister.

Another money card, this card is all about juggling your finances, robbing Peter to pay Paul to keep the money flowing. In the show, the crown is in serious debt, the Iron bank wants payment but the coffers are empty, Cersei’s former allies the Tyrell’s, the richest family in Westeros, are now her enemy, so she steals the Tyrell gold and grain in a lightning strike against Lady Olenna. But Karma strikes, Daenerys strikes back, burning the Lannister army and the supplies they stole, Cersei has the gold but no-one has any supplies and winter is here, She’s robbed Peter and paid Paul but at what cost? Money is at the heart of this weekend, with talk of budget caps for 2020, more expensive engines, plus the propaganda being spewed out of every team, Liberty and the FIA, choices need to be made for the good of the entire sport.

Outcome: The Magician

On the card, the figure on the card is Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish, standing in his brothel. Behind him, on a red, shelved wall are the suit symbols, the Sword is represented by Catspaw, the Valyrian steel dagger that was used to try to kill Bran Stark after his fall and ultimately caused Littlefinger’s downfall at the hands of the Stark children. As well as the suit symbols is the infinity symbol and the necklace he used to frame Sansa Stark for Joffrey’s murder, there is also a raven and scroll, information is key to Littlefinger’s machinations. On his coat is a broach of a Mockingbird. A Mockingbird imitates the sounds of other birds and animals and this is Littlefinger all over, changing his tune to suit his ends.

This is a Major Arcana card, its message is important in this reading.

Traditionally, the Magician stands for using everything at his fingertips to get what he wants and he will get what he wants, by fair means or foul, he is also a trickster which is Littlefinger all over.

This card could mean all kinds of trouble; someone is putting all their pieces in place to get exactly what they want. Now that they have everything at their fingertips, they could very well make a play for power. The paddock needs to be aware of this person, not only is he powerful but a trickster, he will stop at nothing and use everything in his power to get into a position of power, just like Littlefinger. But remember what happened to Littlefinger, he spent so long teaching Sansa his ways that she used them against him, this could also be a warning, be careful of your Chosen One, they could be your downfall.

Summary:

Money is the word that will be on everyone’s lips this weekend, whether it’s an investor in the sport of a team that may have conditions attached, a team that has to juggle their finances to stay afloat. Accepting money from a dubious source, possibly the same source from the first card that has a condition attached, could also have a Karmic reaction when the benefactor wants repayment.

Beware of this mysterious benefactor or someone in authority, he’s not to be trusted, he’s been putting all the pieces into place and he’s now ready to put his plans into action, by fair means or foul. Remember what happened when Littlefinger held a knife to Ned Stark’s throat, he said, “I did warn you not to trust me”

Monaco GP 2018 Tarot Reading

How did I do last time?

Well thanks to Romain Grosjean a lot of heartbreak was felt in the paddock last time out, a lot of defence has come from Vettel over Ferrari’s strategy, which cost him the race.

In the stars this weekend Uranus, the planet of revolution and anarchy is in square with both Mars, the planet of war, anger and survival and Pluto, the planet of death, dark thoughts and retribution. Therefore, this weekend is going to be one of fireworks with all that anarchy, anger and darkness in the air, this race will not go smoothly.

What can we expect to see in the Monaco Grand Prix?

Mood for the weekend – Nine of Coins

What to look out for – Seven of Coins

Outcome – The Empress

Mood for the weekend: Nine of Coins

Daenerys Targaryan is standing in a lush garden in Qarth with one of her young dragons, around the time in the show where she bought the Unsullied Army and freed them, after burning the slave owner and plundering his vaults.

The suit of coins represents the element of earth, which shows us home, family, the material things in life, career and the actual earth.

Traditionally this card is all about enjoying the fruits of your labour. You have worked hard to get where you are, so now it’s time to enjoy the fruits of that hard work. Even though Monaco is not what it used to be it’s still the race that every driver wants to win and the prestige that goes with winning this race makes it so desirable. So the mood for this weekend is “This is the race I want to win, I want the stature that goes with being the winner of the Monaco Grand Prix”. Whoever wins this race, especially if it’s someone outside the usual suspects, will be made for life.

What to look out for: Seven of Coins

A gardener in the Red Keep tends a fruit bush, showing coins emblazoned with the flower of the Reach, the sigil of the Tyrell’s, who are the one’s keeping Westeros afloat, the power and money behind the Iron Throne.

Traditionally, this card is all about taking a step back and assessing how far you’ve come in your endeavours. It seems a lot of teams will be doing this, this weekend especially with Canada being the next race. Monaco is not really a race to judge where you are in the championship; it’s only the sixth race of the season and not a very fair race to judge yourself. Alternatively, it could be a good time for teams and drivers to think seriously about where they want to drive in 2019 and who the teams want to drive for them. Grosjean, Vandoorne and Hartley are on thin ice at the moment, any more mistakes or lack lustre races could see them in the dole queue, or racing in Formula E.

Outcome: The Empress

Daenerys Targaryan stands on the lead ship sailing across the Narrow Sea from Essos to Westeros, above her Viserion, Rhaegal and Drogon, her children, fly through the sky. The Mother of Dragons is coming to take back what his rightfully hers, the Iron Throne.

This is a Major Arcana card, this means what it is saying in this reading is important, so pay attention to it.

This card traditionally signifies creativity and fertility; this could very well say on he back of this race someone’s creativity could sow the seeds of a new beginning of abundance. The Empress is also a matriarch and a strong woman, like Daenerys, a woman in authority may bring peace in a bad tempered weekend as indicated by the Mars/Pluto/Uranus Squares (Claire Williams?) There again, fertility is a strong indicator with this card, baby news may be on the cards this weekend (Claire again?)

Summary:

With two Coins cards, indicating money, in the reading it can only mean Monaco, as described by Somerset Maugham ‘A Sunny Place For Shady People’. Admit it, it’s not the race it once was, Eurotrash and Kardashians mix with Boybands and actors who have no idea what F1 is, but came for the glitz and glamour.

These cards show us that fruits of labour are going to be enjoyed this weekend, which is fine because this is the race everyone wants to win and if someone from outside the usual suspects wins, this could set them up for life (Charles Leclerc or Pierre Gasly?) While on the other hand, teams may look at this race and think about their line up for next year, taking a step back and assessing what needs to change.

Spanish GP 2018 Tarot Reading

How did I do last time?

Well it was certainly heartbreaking for Danny Ric, Valttari Bottas and Sebastian Vettel, would could have been if it hadn’t have been for Torpedo Max. Then there was Valttari and the stray metal shard that ruined a certain win.

The underlying message of the last reading was betrayal, by the team or teammate; I think that was a definite for poor old Dan as this is not the first time he’s been taken out by Max. What happens now, if he follows the advice of the cards, his best bet is to break free of Red Bull and start to make a name for himself in another team, get away from the feeling that he’s second best in the team.

In the heavens this weekend Mercury, the planet of communication and the sign of Taurus are big news in the heavens. Both Mercury and the Moon, the planet of emotions (I know, I know but in astrology, the moon is classed as a planet) move into Taurus, this sign is grounded, earthy and stable, which is helpful after the last few races where the red mist has descended. Mercury and the Moon in Taurus will see emotional and communication stability

What can we expect to see in the Spanish Grand Prix?

Mood for the weekend – Three of Swords

What to look out for – Seven of Spears

Outcome – Six of Cups

Mood for the weekend: Three of Swords

On the card, three swords, Longclaw, Oathkeeper and Widows Wail, pierce a flaming heart of R’hillor, the Lord of Light; the background shows clouds and snow.

Swords represent the element of air, which shows us logic, communication and challenges

Oh dear, here we go again, more heartbreak and betrayal. It seems lessons from Baku have not been learned, so we could possibly been more of the same, not saying Max will take out Dan again, but never say never, but someone will take the betrayal of a team or teammate hard.

What to look out for: Seven of Spears

On the card, Grey Worm launches himself at a group of Son’s of the Harpy’s spears in the backstreets of Mereen.

The suit of Spears represents the element of fire, which in turn shows us passion, pizzazz, creativity and self will.

This card is all about defence and defending what is precious to you, so this weekend lots of people will be defending their position in teams, the race and in the championship. We could see Vettel and Hamilton fighting against a threat from someone else this weekend as well, defending their position in the championship.

Outcome: Six of Cups

On the card, Jon Snow and Sansa Stark sit at Castle Black drinking ale, eating soup and reminiscing about their childhood at Winterfell. They haven’t seen each other for 6 years, since Sansa left for Kings Landing to marry Joffrey and Jon left to join the Nights Watch.

The suit of Cups represents the element of water, showing emotion and intuition.

This card is all about nostalgia, childhood and innocent. This scene on the card is when Jon and Sansa reminisce about their life at Winterfell when they were children, Old Nan’s kidney pies, Sansa saying she was a horrible child, Jon saying he was too busy sulking in corners to play with the others. The outcome of this race, I’m feeling there may be a yearning for the past era’s of F1 to return. Alternatively, someone loses his innocent, a rookie causing trouble midfield; perhaps Charles Leclerc may cause a pile up.

Summary:

Heartbreak and betrayal is still hanging around after Baku and will show itself again this week. With all the stability in emotions and communications in the stars this weekend, it could possibly be team orders that cause the heartbreak, especially with the Seven of Spears showing defence of position in the race/championship being key to this weekend. This tactical outcome may lead to the wishing for the return of yesteryear, when teammates were allowed to race and saving engines/tyres and fuel were not a problem.

Baku 2018 GP Tarot Reading

So how did I do last time?

Well the Emperor stands for order from chaos and that points most directly at Daniel Ricciardo’s magnificent drive and Red Bull’s efficient management of the safety car. The Ace of Coins and its meaning of investment by an outsider is still in the future, but as it’s the second time it’s shown itself, it’s becoming more and more likely.

The Five of Cups and it’s mourning for loss and bereavement, well Vettel is most definitely what could have been, same with Bottas and Hamilton.

Good news in the heavens, Mercury is now direct and going forwards and there’ll be no more miscommunication until Hungary. Bad news, two of the heavyweights in the zodiac are now in retrograde, Saturn and Pluto. Saturn is the planet of boundaries, restriction, rules, duty and Karma, Saturn in retrograde in Capricorn may have all of us particularly focused on meeting exacting standards and acting with integrity and if we have not been up to standard, there could be a Karmic price to pay. Pluto is the darkest planet in the Zodiac, it is the planet of death, transformation, rebirth, change and survival, on the dark side it controls are deepest, darkest feelings and fears. Pluto is also retrograde in Capricorn, normally Pluto unearths darkness in the public sphere, being a generational planet it usually affects an entire generation rather than an individual, however, when retrograde, it brings massive change to our personal lives. This journey comes from deep within the soul, and you already know it very well. Pluto Retrograde advances from the inside out; intensely pressurizing the ego until a completely new you bursts forth. This transit brings us closer to who we need to become.

With an almost full moon in opposition to Uranus in Scorpio, this could lead to some emotional darkness, as people want to break free and change the world around them, so look out for some Banzai moves as the red mist descends.

What can we expect to see in the Baku Grand Prix?

Mood for the weekend – Three of Swords

What to look out for – Eight of Swords

Outcome – Nine of Cups

Mood for the weekend: Three of Swords

On the card, three swords, Longclaw, Oathkeeper and Widows Wail, pierce a flaming heart of R’hillor, the Lord of Light; the background shows clouds and snow.

Swords represent the element of air, which shows us logic, communication and challenges

Oh dear, this card is all about heartbreak, and betrayal (All the sword owners have been betrayed at some point, Jon Snow, Ser Joer, Joffrey and Brienne of Tarth) Someone this weekend is going to feel betrayed by the team or the teammate (Kimi? Valtteri? Danny Ric?, it’s happened before) the heartbreaks felt by the betrayed will lead them to contemplate their loyalties. As the owners of the three Valyrian Steel swords contemplated their loyalties after their betrayals, they walked away, pledged their loyalties to someone else and progressed further.

What to look out for: Eight of Swords

On the card, Brienne of Tarth sits beneath a tree surrounded by swords, she gazes at her sword, Oathkeeper, which is just out of her reach.

This card is all about feeling trapped. On more traditional cards, the woman is blindfolded and lightly bound, she could escape if she wanted to but it’s easier to stay trapped and blame circumstances for her position.

Brienne is so caught up with duty, her oath to Caitlyn Stark to protect her daughters, the regret she couldn’t save Renly and her hatred of Stannis that she has no time for herself and the things close to her (Jaime?) She has discharged all of the oaths she made but still she clings to her duty. Someone in the paddock is in the same situation as Brienne, shackled by duty and loyalty, but with the events of the previous card, that loyalty is shifting, they can see that gap in the swords that shows freedom and their ‘Oathkeeper’ is within their grasp. All they need to do is reach out and grab it to begin fighting again.

Outcome: Nine of Cups

On the card, Samwell Tarly sits in the library in Castle Black surrounded by his beloved books. On a high shelf, nine goblets stand, Sam is looking pleased with himself.

The suit of cups represents the element of water, which shows up emotion and intuition.

This is one of the best cards in the deck, it’s the wish card, all your wishes will come true when this card shows up in a reading, but, the old warning also comes into play, be careful what you with for, it may come true.

After watching the other cards in this reading play out, wishes will come true, someone will get what they desire, whether it’s respect, a better drive, a win or a new contract with better conditions. By the end of the weekend, someone will be very smug indeed.

Summary:

After being dealt a very cruel hand thanks to a team or teammate’s tactics, someone is going to contemplate their situation very seriously, the two sword cards confirm this. They are feeling trapped and they need to break free of the shackles placed on them by the team (Kimi? Valtteri? Dan?) After a shift in loyalties, this could see a change in teams being considered by someone. This reading is showing a definite story, a beginning, a middle and an end, it won’t be completed this weekend and may rumble on for months.

China GP 2018 Tarot Reading

So how did I do last week? Seeing as it was a glimpse into the long-term future of F1 I don’t think I’m in a position to say, “Yes I nailed it” or “No, that reading was a complete bust” We need to wait for a few more months, maybe years, before I can say Yes or No.

However, the good news, on the esoteric front, is that Mercury Retrograde will be over by Sunday, so hopefully no more software glitches, radio breakdowns or strategy failures. So what is Mercury Retrograde and why is it such a big deal I hear you cry, I’ll tell you, I hear myself reply, it’s when the planet Mercury goes backwards and all forms of communication goes on the fritz, I will try and explain so please keep reading. Now for the science bit, because all planets orbit the sun at different speeds at some point the Earth passes a planet, in this case Mercury; and it looks like it’s going backwards in the sky. In astrology and esoteric circles all planets have an energy and set of  ideals, Mercury is the planet of communication, Mars is the warrior the planet of anger and survival, Venus the planet of love and relationships etc, etc, so when a planet is in retrograde, the energy and ideals are turned upside down. Therefore, when Mercury goes retrograde, all forms of communication goes on the fritz, especially electronic communication, phones don’t work properly, computers break down, software gets bugs, your spam filter doesn’t work and your inbox is flooded with spam. Verbal communication is hit as well, rumours start, words are twisted, arguments break out and Chinese Whispers begin. So all the problems in Australia and Bahrain can be traced to the fact the closest planet to the Sun is going backwards, we will see all this again in Hungary and Abu Dhabi.

What can we expect to see in the Chinese Grand Prix?

Mood for the weekend – The Emperor

What to look out for – Ace of Coins

Outcome – Five of Cups

Mood for the weekend: The Emperor

On the card, we see Jon Snow standing with Longclaw in his hands and his house sigil on his armour. He stands ready to defend the North against all enemies, human and non-human.

This is a Major Arcana card, so it’s information and answers are important to this reading.

This card is all about stability, discipline and authority. After what happened in the last two races things are going to settle down and run according to the way it should be, the rules will be adhered to, authority figures will be respected and stability will become noticeable. After the upheavals of the Mercury Retrograde influenced races of Australia and Bahrain, things are starting to settle down; there should be no more pitlane dramas or communication breakdowns. Authoritive figures will start to make their voices heard as well.

What to look out for: Ace of Coins

On the card, a coin is held in a pair of hands, it is the iron coin Jaqen H’ghar gave Arya Stark as a guarantee of safe passage to Braavos and the House of Black and White.

The suit of coins (or pentacles) represents the element of earth; this in turn shows us the material world, home, money, family, career and the actual earth.

This is a card of the beginnings financial security. This card appeared in last week’s reading and the meaning hasn’t changed from then. Last week’s meeting between Liberty and the teams will still make itself known this week. It could also indicate an unknown investor in one of the teams.

In Game of Thrones, the coin is the one given to Arya by Jaqen H’ghar, a Faceless Man from Braavos, which is also the home of the Iron Bank, the biggest financial institution in Essos. Either a Faceless Man could very well be making a financial contribution to F1, or a legendary assassin is at work in the paddock (joke, honest).

Outcome: Five of Cups

On the card, Queen Cersei stands alone in the Red Keep, she is in mourning, the last of her children has died, Maggy the Frog’s prophesy has come true. She stare’s mournfully at the 3 spilled goblets on the floor, (representing  Joffrey, Mycella and Tommen) but she ignores the 2 full goblets on the table behind her.

The suit of Cups represents the element of Water, showing up emotions and intuition.

This card also appeared in the Australia reading and definitely made itself known when Mercedes botched their strategy and the same could very well happen again this week. It is a card of loss, grief and sorrow, could this be third time unlucky for Mercedes, or could it be McLaren failing to beat Toro Rosso again. Whoever it is, the loss this weekend will resonate long and hard, so much so, that they can’t see the two full goblets representing the chance to learn from the mistakes.

Summary:

Two repeating cards show themselves again this week, which means things haven’t been resolved or, at least, lessons haven’t been learned. After the Mercury Retrograde upheavals of the last two races, The Emperor is showing that stability, authority and fairness have returned for this race. Carrying on from last week, money is still causing concern and a invisible investor may be about to make an investment in the sport, or for one of the teams and finally loss, mourning and sorrow will show it’s face again. Someone or a team will feel the loss this weekend most acutely, but they can’t see, or don’t want to see the advantages and chances to learn from the mistakes.

Bahrain Grand Prix Tarot Reading

What can we expect to see in the Bahrain Grand Prix?

Mood for the weekend – Ace of Coins

Hidden issues to be aware of – The Fool

Outcome – Ten of Spears

Mood of the Weekend: Ace of Coins

On the card, a coin is held in a pair of hands, it is the iron coin Jaqen H’ghar gave Arya Stark as a guarantee of safe passage to Braavos and the House of Black and White.

The suit of coins (or pentacles) represents the element of earth; this in turn shows us the material world, home, money, family, career and the actual earth.

Aces often represent the start of a new path in your life, the sowing of seeds that need nurturing. In this case, it means the start of money and success. The meeting of Liberty and the teams this weekend to discuss the 2021 rules will hang over this weekend, for some it will mean they’ll have the means to get the personnel and technology to catch up with the front teams. Financial security will come about for some this weekend.

Hidden issues to be aware of: The Fool

On the card, Tyrion Lannister stands in the chamber under the Great Pyramid of Mereen that houses Viserion and Rhaegal the dragons; he is there to free them from their chains.

This is a Major Arcana card; this is showing us that the message is important for this weekend.

Tyrion is enchanted by stories of dragons and cried himself to sleep when he found out they no longer existed, but he is now a guest of Daenarys Targaryan, the Mother of Dragons and the city is under siege. Therefore, taking his courage in both hands he goes into the chamber that houses two of her dragons in order to befriend and unchain them, in the hope that they can be persuaded to help defend the city.

Traditionally this card is all about taking a leap of faith; it’s all about seizing the opportunity and just going for it. I believe this follows on from the Ace of Coins and someone will take that leap of faith at the meeting between Liberty and the teams and take on the established order to get exactly what they and the sport needs to see them into the next decade. As Tyrion is fond of saying “I drink and I know things”, have a drink, a little Dutch courage maybe and say what you think to be the right way forward and go ahead with your plans.

Outcome: Ten of Spears

On the card, a man carries lances away from a tournament in Kings Landing.

The suit of Spears (or wands) represents the element of fire, which shows us creativity, passion, pizzazz and joie de vive.

This card represents carrying a burden, you are so caught up in responsibility, the demands of others and pressure to perform that you have lost your way, bent double under the burden you are carrying; it’s now time to unburden yourself, or at lease ask for some help sharing that burden. You also need to prioritize, get rid of the dead wood and stop dragging the chains of dependency behind you.

Summary:

The first card is showing that the meeting about the 2021 regulations and the age-old question of money will be foremost in everyone’s mind this weekend. We all know Ferrari will veto everything on the table because they can, Mercedes will veto any engine changes because they don’t want to lose their power and all of the big four will veto a cost cap because they don’t want financial restrictions to cause the lower teams to catch up. However, someone will stand up and challenge the big four, this will ruffle a lot of feathers but in the end, this person will make a lot of sense and will be listened to because, like Tyrion, they have a bigger understanding of the sport than they are given credit for. This weekend and all its shenanigans maybe a burden for someone, or possibly the sport in general and may feel it’s time to get rid of the dead wood and chains that are dragging them down, release the burden of so much responsibility so they can concentrate on what is important. Could this be Liberty calling Ferrari’s annual “We will leave and start are own championship if you don’t do what we want” bluff? Will F1 sink without them or will it flourish?

Australia GP 2018 Tarot Reading

What can we expect to see in the Australian Grand Prix?

Mood for the weekend – Five of Coins

What to look out for – Five of Cups

Outcome – Five of Swords

Mood for the weekend: Five of Coins

On the card, a blinded Arya Stark sits outside a house of faith with a begging bowl in her hand, at her feet lays the staff the Waif gave her to fight with.

The suit of Coins represents the element of Earth; this shows us the material world, money, career, home, family and the actual earth.

Arya has lost everything, her faith, her family, her purpose, everything she holds dear for one stupid moment of revenge against Ser Meryn.

This weekend there will be a feeling of fear, loss and powerlessness. It’s the start of a new season so fear is upmost in everyone’s mind but it will be a test of endurance and determination. Like Arya, blind, alone and at the mercy of the Waif, she can either fight or die and this is the energy running through the paddock this weekend, fight or die.

What to look out for: Five of Cups

On the card, Queen Cersei stands alone in the Red Keep, she is in mourning, the last of her children has died, Maggy the Frog’s prophesy has come true. She stare’s mournfully at the 3 spilled goblets on the floor, (representing  Joffrey, Mycella and Tommen) but she ignores the 2 full goblets on the table behind her.

The suit of Cups represents the element of Water, showing up emotions and intuition.

This card shows us loss, mourning and bereavement, following the previous card, loss and upset is going to overwhelm a lot of people in the paddock this weekend, whether it’s people leaving teams, personnel loss, even the loss of the race. All of these emotions will spill over at the end of the weekend and will possibly rumble on until the next race, but don’t forget to look at the positives that will come out of all this misery, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

Outcome: Five of Swords: Five of Swords

On the card, Bran Stark hands over Winterfell to Theon Greyjoy and his army

The suit of Swords represents the element of air, as well as communication, challenges and logic.

Yet another card of loss, along with defeat and humiliation. Traditionally, this card shows defeat and possibly an unfair victory, someone taking advantage of problems within, like Theon and his capture of Winterfell. The winner of this race will take delight in rubbing salt into his defeated opponents wounds, there may also be a feeling of, the win not being as clean as it could have been. Following on from the previous card, the bad feelings about the win will rumble on for a long while and will leave a bad taste with fans and opponents alike.

Summary:

With three cards all showing the number five, traditionally harsh cards in all suits, loss is going to be felt strongly through the paddock this weekend, obviously someone is going to win but even that will feel like a loss, especially if, as indicated by the Five of Swords,  it’s not as honest as it could be. The loss could not just be about the loss of the actual race, it could also be the loss of integrity, mourning the loss of the sport’s heritage and the faith that everyone plays by the same rules. These Fives have the potential to do a lot of damage this weekend
